Challenge Two - Item Collection

At a Glance

It’s time to collect Novice gear and some Merciless gear! Your community goal is to collect Novice gear for F2P and select rare Merciless gear drops from the final Lemuria fight. We will be using database magic to track everything.

Challenge Details

Collect as many Challenge Items as possible during the period of September 23rd-October 4th 5pm CT. Similar to the previous challenge, this one is split into 2 categories: Unrestricted (UR) and Free to Play (F2P).

The UR category will be counting how many rare drops you get from the final fight in Lemuria fight. The specific items are: Merciless cloak, boots, and ring.

The F2P category will be counting how many Novice pieces of gear you collect. Easy! The specific items are: Novice shoes, athame, robe, and hat.

Any participant may collect items for one or both categories using any non-cheating & non-exploit method. Beyond that, there are no restrictions pertaining to what gear, party size, or people you play with to obtain challenge items.

Non-community participants MAY help you complete fights to obtain items, but their drops will not count towards your community total.

Challenge Scoring

1- You may sell, delete, or place your challenge items after you acquire them to make room for more. We count every challenge item you have EARNED during the challenge window. BUYING challenge items will NOT count towards your total.

2- Each player will only have ONE characters drops tracked.

Acronym Alert: Unrestricted =UR and Free to Play =F2P.

Your community needs to collect challenge items to (hopefully) have the most in the Free to Play category AND the Unrestricted category. Your combined performance in both categories will determine your overall performance. If your community gets 1st place in F2P but 8th place in Unrestricted, you'll have a total score of 1st+8th = 9 points. A community that gets 2nd place F2P and 6th place UR will have a total score of 2nd+6th= 8. In this example, the other community would get 1st place because they have a lower combined score than your community.

Here's an extended example scenario:

Community 1: UR position is 3rd place, and F2P position is 10th place. Thus, their Challenge Score is 3+10= 13.

Community 2: UR position is 1st place, and F2P position is 2nd place. Thus, their Challenge Score is 1+2= 3.

Community 3: UR position is 2nd place, and F2P position is 1st place. Thus, their Challenge Score is ALSO 2+1= 3.

Community 4: UR position is 8th place, and F2P position is 9th place. Thus, their Challenge Score is 8+9= 17.

After comparing everyones Challenge Score we, Example 2 and 3 are tied for the win with their low low scores of 3! Ties are won by the community with the better UR score. So, in this scenario, Community 2 wins.

Due to the nature of this contest we will be actively searching for and taking action against cheaters using tools and methods like autoclickers, cheat engine, account sharing, etc.

Challenge FAQ's

Question: How will KingsIsle know how many challenge items I obtained even if I delete or place them?

Answer: We have database magic! We assure you; you really don’t need to hold onto pillows for them to count. Any pillow obtained through a combat loot-drop into your inventory will be counted.

Question: Can someone use my participating account to collect items for our team when I can’t play?

Answer: Account sharing is prohibited in Pirate101 Terms of Service and may result in your account being banned. We will be randomly spot checking a fair few accounts per community to ensure no account sharing has happened.

Question: Can I collect items on multiple accounts?

Answer: We will only use 1 character per person to add to the community total. Don't waste time collecting challenge items on multiple accounts.

Question: How will you know which character I'm using to collect drops? How will you know which community that character is a part of?

Answer: Later in the challenge we will be collecting that information from your Community Leader. We're opting to wait to do so to make cheating this challenge a bit more difficult.
