Hey, I am curious, what’s the difference between Test Realms and Live Realms?

Live Realm is the 'real' Spiral, where our wizards live and breathe, achieve and progress...Test Realm is where a temporary copy of our wizard dreams of new worlds and dungeons that don't yet exist...they achieve, progress and receive drops but when they wake up they find themselves back in the real world (Live Realm) and none of it really happened, it was all a dream!

Seriously though - Test Realm is for wizards to test out new content and share their thoughts with KI. We can report bugs, give suggestions and share ideas about content that is about to be released into Live Realm. It gives KI access to useful feedback so they can fix game-breaking issues and act on some of the ideas before it is released

Test Realm (TR) only exists for a short while before the release of new content and the schedule can be found on the website. It requires a separate download so no-one accidentally quests in the wrong place. Before Test Realm goes live, KI makes a copy of all the wizards so nothing will affect our real wizard. When we log in, our wizard has exactly the same as when they copied him/her...very recent progress will not be identical.

We can only go to TR if we have active membership or have made a crown purchase in the last 30 days. It gives us a sneak peek at exciting new content and lets us try it out without affecting our real wizard. We also get given some free crowns so we can enjoy the experience fully and try out new crown features. Nothing we do in test realm affects our real wizard in live realm.

Even though nothing we do affects our real wizard it's a great opportunity to try out some packs or crown items, play with new features and get a feel for the new content...and of course, let KI know if our wizards encounter any problems along the way

I hope this helps!

A test realm is where new areas, gear, pets, and other such things are actively tested out by players before their official release. This allows for most of the bugs to be worked out and for gear balance to be adjusted.

We are currently playing in the live realm. This is where the product finished in the test realm is available to the general public. No more major changes will be made to gear or spells after this. However, patches will still fight the bugs that inevitably appear in an MMORPG like this one.

test realm take a snap shot of your characters that usually matches how they were around 2 weeks ago. they provide crowns to help test packs. anything you do on test realm does not transfer to live realm. there are a few other things like testing the content they are releasing but that's the basics.

Welcome to the Message Boards!

The Test Realm has the name suggests is a unique sever that the game (KI) uses to allow players to undergo/test/try out any new changes/updates to the game.

These usually take the form of quests but usually include other things. It allow players to note any problems/issues/bugs they may be having before it hits the Live Realm.

Speaking of which, the Live Realm (what we're playing now) is the actual space we occupy and play the game. It differs from the Test Realm in that the Test Realm is only temporary; as in, whatever we do there is not saved and hence does not impact anything as much.

The Live Realm as you've already experienced denotes all our real actions that are saved and stored.

So, to wrap up:

The Test Realm is only a temporary realm used for testing updates - It disappears once these updates are transferred over to the Live Realm; the permanent realm.

The Live Realm is where we play every day. Everything we do affects our Wizard. Anything we acquire or learn is ours to keep.

The Test Realm is KI releases new features for Beta testing. Basically they want us to run the new updates through the paces in actual game conditions. So it is just that a Test Realm. Nothing done in the test realm is permanent. Any rewards, loot, pets, or spells acquired do not show up on your account in the Live Realm. The Test Realm is only open when KI has something for us to test.

Hope this helps
