I have been playing this game since it first came out and I honestly love it. However what I find to be a real pain is the deck and turn system. There has been countless times where I'm sitting there discarding useful cards for a prism or blade and half of the time I'm dead by the time I get what I need. I know how to fix a deck, and I always max out my important spells, but even so I always end up with either all of my buffs and wards at once, all of my attacks at once, or all of my heals at once, making me have to discard spells that I would end up needing later in the battle when I ACTUALLY needed them. So I thought up a way to fix this issue for myself and players everywhere. (Note: this is for PvE purposes not PvP)
First off I would like to suggest what I call a 'starter hand'. These are spells that you can assign as the first 6 that will always appear at the start of any given battle. Afterwards your spells are then randomized like normal and the tc mechanics remain the same.
Secondly I would like to suggest having a side pile next to your hand where you can cast any of your 'special'spells that are given from gear, pets, and of course your wand cards. This pile will only show 2 or 3 spells at a time so this way players can use their wand whenever they need it, like to finish off a boss or get rid of a pesky shield/weakness. I mean, a wand is right there I'm your hand, so what kind of wizard has to WAIT to use their wand while they try searching for it in their deck?
Finally I wanted to address the 'first turn' issue that a lot of players have been bringing up. I can honestly say this issue extends to more than just PvP, it's a major problem in PvE as well. What I mean is that even in PvE the one with the upper hand in battle is the one that goes first. So when a boss gets chosen to go first or even normal NPC the players are at a disadvantage. What I would like to propose is what I call the 'Luck' stat. This star world just like power pip percentage, expert unlike power pips where it grows as you level this stat is only obtainable through gear, so as to prevent any issues with PvP. That way players can have a better chance at surviving against incredibly tough and/or cheating foes.
What are your thoughts and opinions about what I've mentioned? I think it's a great way to enhance the game while maintaining original mechanics.
Starter hand sounds like a bad idea for people whose preferred strategy is to spam attacks. I would be more comfortable keeping it random.
However, I like the idea of having an "item cards" array under your main deck. But would that be too confusing? I think it sounds pretty intuitive, but I'm not sure if everyone would grasp it.
