the sea dragon gets some of the best talents in the game if you train it. also, the furniture items can be sold at the bazaar. i've found it's an easy way to build up gold if you buy a dragon pack then sell what you don't want. i think they are pretty good, personally. i'm not even looking for the dragon mount, just seeing what options for gear i can get. so far, though, none of it's better than my crafted gear- except the sword. -eli and crew

Actually, this bone dragon mount has my mind thinking, "why do some Wizards have the Bone Dragon Mount after buying only a few Dragon Hoard Packs?" I have bought 44 Dragon Hoard Packs already and I have yet to get the Bone Dragon Mount. I wish KI made it so that we Wizards can buy it seperately so I could have already got it. I plan on using more crowns to buy more Dragon Hoards Packs, and see if luck helps me out at getting this Epic Mount. Again, if I don't get it... I would tell you that using money to buy virtual pleasures is addicting, and don't let it get to you. Its just a game. Even though I said this I wish everyone could have the spoils of this new pack and be on with their Wizarding Experience.

I bought crowns for myself and my kids today so we could get the Dragon's Hoard Pack. They bought it, and one of them was lucky enough to get the bone mount, but the other one hasn't yet, after 5 tries. When I tried to buy the pack from the crown shop, it would not let me. I could only gift it. Are there level restrictions or anything that would prevent me from being able to buy it? (I am level 58, if that helps)

If you have enough crowns to buy it, you must also have at least 7 free slots in your backpack too.

I have now spent over 40,000 crowns on this pack! Still no mount!

I think this is a terrible addition to the game as people are wasting money without realizing it. It's like making a family friendly game into a casino! Maybe if you just put a new item that garuntees you the mount, at an inflated price like 10,000 - 15,000 crowns, it would not be a problem

I would just like to say that I agree in part with the comments about some of the items in this pack causing a -really- bad case of begging. I actually ended up switching to a different mount for now because I got tired of people going "plz plz plz plz plz (times about 489582) can u gift me 1 of those?" and I actually had to turn off my friend requests and teleporting options because they were interfering with playing the game.

I won't say this was one of the "worst things W101 has ever done" or that they should get rid of the pack or anything, because I was really stoked by some of the items I got, I just feel like the begging, especially in this case, has gotten out of hand. It makes me wonder why something like that isn't against game rules to begin with (think about it, why would anyone in their right mind give something they paid -real money- for to a complete stranger?).

/end rant

I have more than enough crowns to buy the pack and only 34 out of 120 slots in use. But for some reason i can not purchase the pack with my main character. i checked my other 4 characters and it looks like i can purchase the pack. Is this a glitch? I will be sending a message to support to ask about this. plus i have a friend you gifted me 3packs and i only claimed one because it had the temporary mount (also with my main character) and when i logged in the next day the other 2 packs were gone. :(

I have a problem with these new packs...

I am saddened and sickened at what this new addition to the crown shop has done to people. I have never been accosted in this game for gifts as much as this. The new Dragon gift pack has caused an environment that might keep me away from this game altogether until it dies down a bit. I have been reported so many time because I have said "no" to people begging for these new giftpacks. I work hard for my money and do not get mommy and daddy to give me money for crowns so what right do you kids have to report me because I will not spend MY money on you? a stranger? This is just disgusting to me.

I would also like to add that its not cool to sit in the WC commons on your new dragon mount and tease all of those who can not have one. Thats just as bad as begging.
I agree exept I won't stop playing the game. When I go in the commons WITHOUT (I don't have the mount so I use my flying carpet) the mount and people still beg ( i dont even have crowns) while I'm minding my own buisness just to go to the bazaar.
Though I figured out a way to avoid it, you dress like a lvl 4 person and go in the least crowded realm.

I love this pack!!!
I hope you can keep it for a longer time, because I won't be getting crowns for a while. When I do, I will keep trying for that mount! I've seen other comments saying, "It's bad for people to show off", or, "I don't like the trying to look cool," stuff like that.
I don't care how much I look. I kinda treat mounts as pets.
So, that's pretty much all I have to say. But here's some advice for you lucky Bone Dragon riders: DISABLE FRIEND REQUESTS.
So........bye.

Lets all chill out, its simple, if people beg for the pack ignore them, if your friends ask for it, ignore them and just tell them you can't. But if they keep asking, use the "ignore" button, it is there for a reason. Don't cry if you don't get what you want and other people do, the pack is suppose to be random. And you should read other posts before posting.

etc, etc, etc.....

Dude it was so funny, me and my friend got on, and he hadn't been on in a couple months, so right when he saw the Bone Dragon, he said "I want one of those, where do you get one?" So I told him it's a high chance of not getting it, and he said oh well I'm gonna try it. So on his first pack he opened it and there was the Bone Dragon. Lucky lucky boy. He sees a new ultra-rare mount and ten seconds later he has one of his own. I guess some people are just lucky. :D

The fact that i got a Dragon Bone Mount without having to spend more than $25 for crowns is all that matters to me.

I just simply ignore all of the losers who go around begging people for gifts instead of either getting a job or asking their parent(s) for money to buy crowns like they should.

Hey, don't feel bad! If you're a child ( a.k.a., you live with your parents/ guardians) ask your parents for allowance for doing chores. The best thing about crowns are that they are so cheap
5$: 2500 crowns
10$: 5000 crowns
Hope I helped,

Are these Dragon Hoard packs even legal? Aren't they gambling? You spend crowns (that cost real world money) in order to get a CHANCE to get the dragon mount. Sounds like gambling to me. True, the packs always give you something...so in a way I guess they are also like old school trading cards, but still uncomfortably close to gambling for me to want to encourage my daughter to participate in this kind of behavior.

no, they are not gambling.

you might personally be taking a chance to get one specific item, but that's you personally.

The packs themselves are grab bags, and the value of what you get in each one is more than what you spend on it.

There's nothing illegal about selling grab bags, or grab bag like items.

I personally like the pack. Even though I don't have the mount yet, I would use most of the draconic items to decorate my Sultans Palace-- er, I mean, Dragons Palace lol. All the clothing items I got from it I sold and got a lot of money. It gets kind of silly when you have to spend about 200 dollars worth of gift cards but I can understand that the mount is very hard to obtain and its worth it. I hope more packs like these can be released soon.

See you in the Spiral!

I've spent over 20k crowns on the packs, and I've received 1 PROMOTIONAL Pack for having submitted a DXDiag for the test realm when Cyrus's portal back to Merle's house wouldn't work for me.

Of my 20k Crowns I got:
3 x Dragon Wings (Mount, Permanent) (7,000C x 3 = 21,000C)
3 x Vigilant Dragon (Pet) (6,500C x 3 = 19,500C)
1 x Assailing Dragon (Pet) (6,500C)
1 x Utility Dragon (Pet) (6,500C)
2 x Sea Dragon (Pet) (12,500C x 2 = 25,000C)
2 x Dragonrider's Balance Blade (L60 Wand) (5000C x 2 = 10,000C)
10 x Dragonriders Gear pieces (L60 Hat/Robe/Boot) (2,500C x 10 = 25,000C)
Total Crowns Approx = 113,500C

From my PROMOTIONAL PACK I got:
1 x Dragonrider's Life Blade (L30 Wand) (3,000C)
1 x Dragonrider's Vigilant Set (L60 Hat, Robe, Boots) (12,500C)
1 x Vigilant Dragon (Pet) (6,500C)
1 x Dragon Wings (Mount, Permanent) (7,000C)
1 x Bone Dragon (Mount, Permanent) (15,000C)
Total Crowns Approx = 44,000C

Now, I know I got lucky with the goods from the Promotional pack, and am probably overvaluing a few things in there, but I am still waiting for a few things KingsIsle had promised...

1 - A promise was made in October 2009 that Mounts would be available for Gold, Crowns, and as Exclusive Boss Drops. There were 30 Models ready to be released at the time of Oct 2009, and some were supposed to be Boss Drop Exclusive.

2 - A promise was made on February 24, 2010 that Wing Mount drop rates would be reset to a higher value and we would be informed as to when we could start farming for Wings (the first dropping mounts) again.

Now, I truly like the Promotional pack I got, but I'm still waiting for them to fulfill those promises... perhaps they could make the Black Panther mount (which was previously only available as a 15-Day rental from a code in Beckett Magazine) one of the first Boss Exclusive permanent Mounts. I'm not asking for a HUGE chance of getting one, maybe the same chance of getting any Crowns item or Pet the boss drops.
