I love the way obscure references are scattered throughout the worlds of the spiral. I was questing in Wysteria when the librarian gave me the quest "Bookhounds of Pigswick". That nagged at me as familiar. Finally the bit of trivia came to me. I think this is a reference to the very old science fiction novel Spacehounds of IPC, by E. E. Smith. Now I'm wondering who the Doc Smith fan among the Kingsisle developers is.
