As all or most of you may know there's been a lot of suggestions for name changes. Well I like and dislike that idea. I thought my name was unique when i made it but I've seen countless other wizards with that name. So my suggestion? Only be able to change your last name. Your first name would stay the same, and you would only be able to change it Once per wizard. Most games usually require 10 dollars USD for a name change. Therefore I say it require 5000 crowns, that way Kingsisle keeps some money going and it would be something a lot of players want/would use. As for your friends not knowing who you are, I say there would be a one time notification to your friends telling them your old name and what you changed it too. It would show them the first time they log on after the name change. Well, Tell me your thoughts! And hopefully you people at Kingsisle read and consider this!
If it costs money, and you can only change your last name, no one will pay for it, especially at that price. I would gladly pay to change my wizard's name, but there's no way I'd pay 5000 crowns just to change her last name. Especially if I could only change it once! I made my character when I was seven, and my ideas of what a 'cool sounding name' are have changed a lot since then - who's to say I won't think my character's new name sounds terrible in a few more years?
If a name-change system is going to be put in place, it should definitely cost money, but it should be unlimited. And your first name should be able to be changed as well. If there's going to be a little notification saying who you were previously, there is no reason whatsoever not to allow first names to be altered.
