Level 100+, (Arbitrary Level) Elixir

Title. Game isn't balanced enough to bother questing every different school to max. KI is losing more money by loading player data, positions and interactions for the amount of time it takes to reach max level, than if they were to just allow max wizards to be bought.

Remember that everyone will still have to farm for gear, seeds, and reagents if they don't have them already.

I'll finish leveling my Storm and maybe Ice the long way but that's it. Add capability of the Elixir so that it can finish at a custom level (every 10 levels) - future proof.

This topic comes up from time to time and there has been a lot of discussion about it. Here are a few links to other similar topics.

Personally, I have read most of these topics and am of the opinion that we don't need a level 100 elixir yet and an arbitrary level elixir is just worse. The point of the level 50 elixir is to get people to a level of gameplay they feel comfortable with, NOT to let people lax a wizard once and buy more max wizards.

Each school has challenges to playing through the main story and I'm of the opinion that what adds value to the gameplay is how you overcome the problems of being your specific school.

I encourage any discussion on this thread to use the other posts as background and be aware that people have been asking for level 100 elixirs for 4 years and KI hasn't implemented them. There are many reasons why and they are discussed in these posts.

The challenge will be to not reinvent the wheel when discussing why this should or shouldn't be implemented.

for one, I think this would make them lose more money long-term. There'd be less people spending their time (and money) by buying these elixers, rather than just playing through the game. It really depends on how much these elixirs would cost.

Morever, it's not just from a money standpoint, but from a gameplay/community standpoint as well. The amount of knowledge from wizard to wizard definitely varies, but say you're on an account you share with siblings. You've played through much of the game and are able to buy this level 100 elixir for your other sibling's new or much less experienced wizards. There'd be a pretty large learning curve for them, which might hinder not only their experience from the game, but other players as well.

the level 50 elixir is similar, however the difficulty from level 50 to level 100 is vastly different.

NOT adding Level 100 Elixirs makes adding the Level 50 Elixirs seem like a "Wasted Opportunity of an Idea that wasn't taken further".

The only other thing I could think to make them fairer would be to either set an additional requirement on them to use them like "Must Have Completed All Side Quests up to Level 100" or make them into a Crown Reward Only Elixir.

So have it limited to an account that already has a wizard at the level one wants to Elixir-rank up to.

The idea of having it limited to an account that has already been ranked up to the rank one wants to buy, was also espoused in most if not all of the links you presented, in addition to the authors of those threads proposing the Elixir.

So a significant portion of people do not share your opinion. Instead of 'learning the game' for players that already know everything about how the game works and have played through the entire story, cut out the time and energy necessary to redo questlines they already know.

I'm not playing through the game 6/7 times. I just play on the wizards I already have at or near max (2), and the remainder I simply do not quest on ever because it's not worth my time to grind 7 accounts for PVP especially when only 2 or 3 of them are viable for it at any one time.

You don't seem to understand that right now the smart and capable players will just buy a max account and dual quest with that max account one-shotting the enemy which leaves almost as little 'strategic choice' and 'challenge' than just buying an Elixir in the first place.

I would have already done this except that I don't have the capability for a second computer or a virtual machine, but you can bet once I do I will be doing exactly this, and only then for the next-highest priority wizard in line.

You want to do it the hard way, fine, but to think that one needs to play through another 100-140 levels to 'get a grasp of the challenges' of a how a particular school works when they already have a max account and have played for over a decade is just plain arrogant.
