With the previous changes during the spell audit some schools got away with keeping their effect as is with their damage nerfs, mean while storm got the short end of the stick. Glow bug squall removed all blades and offered pressure to blade stacking strategies. With aegis being a thing , I don't under stand why the effect was totally annihilated, but it didn't just stop there. Spells like sirens that was once the meta of 4v4 now became the most useless 9 pip aoe. There is no other school spells that comes with backlash other that bad juju in pvp only that gets the bad taste storm gets vs schools like fire who basically got away with everything including keeping most of the old effects they already have, while having more damage than storm.

If storm is suppose to be that school with high offensive capabilities then why force counter measures? Why is it now that storm is able to attain mass health by gear stats in order to compete with other schools when it was never even intended. Rasulkas Wrath needs that negative charm removed. In fact id argue that no spell should give the user a weakness unless it did 10k damage in one go. Scion of storm has the requirement of having the opponent no holding any existing charm to do damage with 0 backlash.

Way to show how one can make or break these spells through audited and indirectly buff certain schools without even looking at other schools per say or maybe you have, but myth is a prime example of what am talking about atm. If these changes soon to be made can rank the schools on the pvp tier list for the spells they have access rather than strategic methods, then how can we really tell if their balance?

So a few things.

1) Glowbug Squall was about 13-15 mana worth of value in a 5 mana card. Pre-Nerf it did more damage than sirens and followed it up with a mass enfeeble. That's WAY too much value. Now it does just more than sirens (which has a bonus effect) and still costs 3 pips fewer. Sure, it takes about as much time, but in terms of pips spent, its pretty soundly more balanced. The fact that lots of overpowered spells are being toned down isn't a bad thing. It's good for the game, since apparently they don't want to redevelop the schools to encourage a variety of playstyles.

2) Lots of death spells, like sacrifice and dark pact, have drawbacks. The fire spell immolate also does. Insane bolt is an example of a storm spell where there is a BIG risk to the spell that works most of the time. Rasulka's Wrath isn't strange and it doesn't make sense to call it out.

It seems to me that there is a lot of rage throughout the post here and that it probably fits better in the PVP board. Honestly, a lot of the changes had to be made to allow the devs to make more content as the power creep was getting out of control. I'm of the opinion that Myth's 6 mana spell earthquake is a spell that needs a nerf. Lots of spells won't get the balance we want, but will get adjusted and we'll see where the schools end up.

I imagine Kingsisle is intending to add more effects to Spells for every school based by identity really soon.

They previewed a Thunder Bird spell that adds a Storm Aura post cast on the WizDevs Twitter.

Spellements are also being further improved upon over time and they alleged that most or some of the Loremaster Spells would have Spellement routes later.

Perhaps your class will get a Multi Hit soon that could make up for Bugs being nerfed.
