I'm trying to complete this request. Collect the early times in Shirataki Temple. It takes me to the Return of the Emperor book, but nothing happens. What am I missing???
This quest is done by going into the Shirakatati Temple and defeating everything until you un-block the barrier that the Monk is standing by. Get past the wave guys, and go inside. There, you have to defeat the Plauge Oni (I think). After defeating him, go in the back of the room and collect the book.

i am having the same problem. the Jade champion is just standing there.. there's an obelisk.. and the monk is laYing down. and the book still saY's "return of the emperor". there is nothing for me to do in there. i don't get it.
