All Souls Pegasus mount

I wrote you about how impressed I was with this new Halloween mount--enough that I spent 30,000 crowns on EACH of my accounts trying to get one (finally managed it on one more try). Then I go to play Pirate101--and you have the mount in the crown shop for just 7000 crowns.

I do hope you’ll consider offering this amazing new mount in both crown shops.

Thanks.

Yeah, that would be cool since I don't want to gamble all my crowns for a chance to get it.

But then it's not really fair to all the people who already paid to get the mount from buying tons of packs... just saying.

Look on it on a business point of view.

You just spend 30,000 crowns to get that mount.

If it was available in the crown shop, you'd only spend 7000.

So, while I agree in a sense that it would be easier on our pockets for a bit more availability in the crown shop when it comes on to these mounts, it's a little unlikely it'll be implemented since players like yourself have a strong passion at opening pack after pack for the mount. More funds for KI.

It'll probably be added in next year's Halloween update.

One could posit that a few hard core stubborn slot players will keep the casinos in business but if no one ever sees one win, not so much.

I think more would pay for the mount in the crowns shop, than KI would make from the few stubborn 'gamblers' so to speak; but maybe I'm totally off base, because so far, they keep things extremely hard to win.

There are other threads on this topic where I've said more so I will leave it there.

Sorry but if you make that mount available to ALL players for the same price then that pack is totally worthless. The reason that pack does well for them EVERY year is because people use their crowns at a chance to win that mount. Like someone else already stated, if you want that mount then throw down around $30.00 for some crowns & buy the packs like everyone else who has that mount. If they wanted everyone to have the mount easily, they would offer it in the crown shop.. That pack has been successful because year after year it can be offered for a CHANCE to win that cool mount. I don't want everyone to have the same mount as me. I'm not a "stubborn" gambler either by any means.. Just a gamer who doesn't want the same mount as everyone else. I paid the crowns to get it, and so should everyone else who wants it.

"Sorry but if you make that mount available to ALL players for the same price then that pack is totally worthless."

Do you mean, if the mount were for sale in the crown shop?

Well not really worthless as a chance to win it still. If the mount cost 7500 crowns and up and the player had a fairly decent chance to win one at 250 crowns or whatever a pack cost, they'd still sell packs. They could also put other things in the pack to drive sales. What might help drive more sales also would be to remove items we can get elsewhere for free (gold or drops.)

What might happen though with a mount that's in the crown shop all year and also in a pack is the crown shop version would sell fewer. But if it were seasonal sales and in the pack, I don't think it would be an issue in either way. Just my hunch though.

What some of us are saying is that we do not know of anyone who has won the mount even though many of us are spending wayyyyyyyy

Well, I do know how much I spent to get it, and it was around $30.00 on the packs. Same with someone else in my house. Same with some of my friends who have the mount. It is not impossible to get the mount if you buy the packs- where it's offered. I get that some of you want it put in the crown shop so that you don't have to buy the packs. BUT, tons of people who did want that mount- had to pay for it. I don't think it would be fair to everyone who had to buy the packs to get it. Of course everyone wants that mount.. It's cool.. IF you don't get it in the packs, buy more. That is what me, my friends, and everyone else had to do to get it. I love it when wizard101 has something really rare and cool in a pack (like this mount) and everyone just complains how it should be offered in the crown shop & how unfair it is. If it was offered in the crown shop that would be the truly unfair part. Unfair to all the people who have paid the money to buy the packs to get that rare, cool mount. Again, the mount should not be put in the crown shop. I don't want everyone having the same mount as me, that is why I spent all the money on those packs- for that mount. Also, if you are saying you spent wayyy wayy more money than that, and have not gotten the mount- then that is wrong and maybe you should write KI support and talk to them about it. The people I have talked to about his said they spent between $25-35 on packs to get the mount. I know packs can be the frustrating at times, and you don't always get what you want. Again, if you've spent way more than that and still have not gotten it, then you should write support so they can check into the problem.

"IF you don't get it in the packs, buy more. That is what me, my friends, and everyone else had to do to get it."
Are you aware this can read as judgmental?

Because we already have done this and spending a certain amount has been proven not to be any guarantee at all.

Also it's not anything bad that some of us wish we could buy one outright.

We've already tried to tell you that we've spent much much much more than $30 and did keep trying and still nothing happened.

I would be embarrassed to put down what my chances actually cost me.

I am happy you (and your friends!) had better luck than myself and than everyone else I've heard about.

I'll say it again. If you truly spent that much and didn't get it then you should contact support and let them check out the issues. Something seems off then.

No, I'm sorry, complaining to support that we spent $X dollars and didn't get Y prize from a crowns pack is not appropriate. We gambled and we lost.

Buying crowns packs for one particular prize is gambling.

With every crowns pack purchase, we have a CHANCE to win (whatever it is that we want). Let's say the drop rate is 1/1000. That means the odds are that 1 out of 1000 packs we buy will drop the (whatever it is that we want). One pack will drop it and the other 999 won't. The odds are written as a ratio that looks like this: 999:1. We could get (the thing we want) on the first pack we ever buy. Lucky us! But guess what? the odds reset with the very next purchase and never change no matter how many packs we buy.

With every single purchase, we still have only 1/1000 chance of getting (whatever it is that we want).

Why?

Because every single purchase is a new gamble where the odds are set at 999:1. That means, we have 999 chances to lose and only 1 chance to win. Every single time, those are the odds we face.

Nothing is broken, this is just the way that odds and probability work.

I heard the first time

I didn't reply because your opinion and reality aren't the same in this. There is absolutely no guarantee of winning any specific thing. It doesn't matter how many chances you buy. It doesn't matter how often you try. You might win it on the first try or never after a million tries.
There is a disclaimer on the website about this, so why would you assume that support would just float me a mount if I didn't win one?

It isn't "off," it's the way they designed this on purpose. Just because you and your friends managed to win one doesn't mean everyone else had the same result, or that something is "off" if they didn't. You're not hearing the many many people in here and instead keep insisting if we spend $30 we will win a mount. It just is not true.

Well the problem with this is that some of us do buy way way more packs than we should and still get nada, no gear no pets no stuff you cant get just anywhere in game like all the other junk we get from the packs. Now don't get me wrong KI needs funds of course they are a business first but, I do believe when you buy pack after pack after pack and still get nothing good except after about 30 or more packs and then its something like a gear or something that the wizard you bought the pack with can't even use then its very frustrating. To top it any and all mounts you got are temporary and you got no cool pets or anything else that you didn't already have tons of from drops and laying around in game. This is what makes people mad and not want to support KI at least in packs. True we all have the right not to buy the packs but because I complained and said what junk is in them I can't even buy any now anyway but my opinion and it is mine and probably some others as well, ok maybe you don't get good stuff from packs but at least every 3-4 packs should contain a rare item that is good and also if a mount make it permanent this doesn't mean you get a mount every 3-4 packs it just means you get gear or a pet and possibly a mount or just make every pack contain one good item out of all the JUNK this would be fair also. Make it so you can trade the temporary mounts say 15 of them for a permanent mount of choice from a list. Something so this isn't so frustrating, so this is my thoughts.

I think even the 'common' stuff should be better than what you would get for free/drops/gold.

If there has to be furniture make it all dyeable.

If there has to be music make it stuff you can't get any other way.

If there has to be reagents drop in more rare ones.

Etc...

I just got a new crafting assignment and...400 arena tickets for one vine. Sigh I have less than 400 arena tickets total and that's saving them all from daily tasks.

Oh and getting gear you don't even have a wizard for. And it doesn't sell for much.

I do think the packs need to be reconfigured or rethought. It's not just about not getting that one thing we wanted. It's about winding up with backpacks and banks bursting with junk.

Save your arena tickets because you can easily get the vine reagent from gardening! All of the following plants drop the vine reagent.

Blue Huckleberries (drops other plants as well)
Deadly Flytrap
Deadly Helephant Ears
Frozen Flytrap
Goose Tree
Malestrom Snapdragon
Moon Flower
Pink Huckleberries (drops other plants as well)
Red Huckleberries (drops other plants as well)
Silver Trumpet Vine

Thank you Freshta I appreciate that.
You're right it's probably a wiser use of resources.
Unfortunately I am a terrible gardener in and out of the game. I keep forgetting to look in on the ONE plant I am currently growing. Lol

I might try fishing, and looking to see if any of my other Wiz happen to have a Vine.

Also need a ton of Antiquity but that could happen in time, they are sometimes just lying around at Mirage.

i, for one, would love to see this mount in the crown shop at some point: i saw one for the first time last night, and it's so pretty. :)

i wouldn't object to more craftable mounts either. i crafted one of the pogo sticks from b.o.x.e.s., and i am just missing one mote of transport for my death whirlwind... maybe this one could be craftable too.

with the controversy currently happening in the industry (ea/dice is currently under investigation for their loot-box system), i won't be surprised if this changes. i just hope that, if it does, it's for the better.

people don't care if it's fair or not they just want the mount. but everyone who has it well, we had to pay to get it. everyone wants something for nothing in this game. just complain on the message boards that is easy. all the adults say they won't write in to see if there is a problem yet they just complain all over the message boards, funny! i'm glad i'm a kid.

*No one* has said that they want "something for nothing."

We are sharing our own experiences with this. That's all. And it wasn't only me who said the same thing: That there is no guarantee. KI themselves said this in the disclaimer.

We just want to be able to buy the mount in the Crowns shop in some cases. That is what people are mostly saying too. Again, spending money i.e. the opposite of "something for nothing."

What you did was spend on packs in order to get a special Pirate101 mount, on Wizard.
