Light, Shadow, and Chaos

Ok so many people are complaining that balance requires an opposite because it is too op, I somewhat agree with that. Mana burn and supernova are pretty awesome, as well as gaze of fate, savage paw, and loremaster. Seriously though, the school of chaos is the most likely candidate as balance's true opposite, the words are literally antonyms.

I must state that they are not going to have chaos magic without having light magic, and if they are going to make both, guess what, we have ourselves another magic trio. I was going between the names ethereal and enigmatic for this triad of magic, because they mean unearthly and mysterious. So obviously all of this needs some an explanation, so I just finished the eclipse tower and sofia dark side is explaining what shadow magic is and I quote ," Moon magic is about changing forms, but shadow magic is about rebuilding reality."

So basically it goes like this, light magic is used to create, ie. bartleby used the song of creation to make the first world. Chaos magic is the destruction of what has been created, ie. titans destroyed the first world or morganthe used xibalba to end azteca. Finally it comes back to shadow magic which rebuilds that of which has been destroyed, forming it anew, such as when morganthe attempts at using the song of creation to, and I quote," rebuild the spiral in my own image!"

So as you can see everything makes sense. You create, then destroy, then restore( not always in a good way). So tell us what you think, whether it be compliments or criticism.

Balance is not the opposite of Chaos and they aren't antonyms. Order is the opposite of Chaos, Balance would be keeping sides in balance: Order/Chaos, Light/Dark, Good/Evil so that neither tips the scale to take over completely.

First of all, giving balance an opposite school would take away a lot from its uniqueness. It's not really too OP or even OP in the first place. I do agree, though, that we should have Chaos and Light to form a trio with Shadow.

balance is not suppose to have an opposite because it's all the schools and KI is not going to make a whole new school just to be an opposite for balance.

I not suggesting the idea of chaos magic, I just saying if they do integrate it into the game then this is how it would probably work. I never said balance needed an opposite, It's fine the way it is, but if there was one it would be chaos.

There cannot be an opposite of balance really. Balance is the equal combination of all the schools of Light. Chaos would not be the opposite.

Ok then what would be the actual opposite of balance if it isn't chaos?

It's almost like asking what's the opposite of gray. Black and White are opposites, Gray is the mix in the middle and has no opposite. Balance is the mix of everything therefore it has no opposite. Another way of looking at it would be light. All the Light magic schools are like a rainbow. is like white light, the sum of all. So in that case Shadow would really it's opposite and acts that way in many ways.
