So, as the title states I'm wondering if the wizard101 spells are starting to get too cartoony for some of you. When we look at how the game progresses (I'll be taking Fire spells for example) You'll start out with Firecat. A cartoony, but not too cartoony spell. As you progress through the game as a fire mage your spells start to take a serious turn with Heck Hound, Phoenix and Helephant but as you progress more they start to get increasingly cartoony with more comedic and goofy looking spells continuing to come out. My question is, do you like these new spells, or would you like them to keep a somewhat serious look such as Phoenix and Helephant?
Re: Wizard 101 spells: Are they getting too cartoony?
You have a point that the concepts behind the animations have evolved in unexpected directions. I agree with you that some of them have changed in a cutesy direction that didn't always jibe with me as we progressed through levels.
from a very dire Rain of Fire (Rank 9) to a cutesy Sun Serpent (Rank 10) not a big deal to me from spine-tingling Leviathan (Rank 8) to cutesy Sirens (Rank 9) not a big deal to me not a big deal to me from chilling Skeletal Dragon (Rank 8) to cartoony Frank (Rank 9) from otherworldly, fantastic Ra (Rank 8) to mini-pet, cartoony Chimera (Rank 9)
New spell development has to go through a lot of hands at KI, and to me it seems like someone's tastes sided more with cartoony, cutesy, kitschy animations for the Zafaria - Azteca spells.
