Drop Rate Increase and Decrease

There should be a way to increase the drop rate for certain items and decrease for others you already have. I have gotten malistaire's wand four times now but no athame. It is really frustrating when you continue to get items that you have already obtained.

My solution is every time you receive a rare dungeon drop the rate for that particular item decreases and every other item's rate increases. The system would do this automatically of course.

Any pro's or con's? Likes or dislikes?

All drop rates are the same for all Darkmoor items, it is just random luck.

But he's saying that once you have been dropped one of an item, its drop gets rarer by some factor and that difference is distributed among all the items you haven't yet gotten.

Interesting, and I like it - but my life has two sets of the Malistaire hat/robe/boots stitched differently. As the hat (for healing at least) is subpar, she doesn't wear it. I would be interested in a third stitch on the boots/robe.

Maybe, once all school items are dropped, the rates reset to default?

i agree with the op.

i wish they'd remove off-school gear from the drop pool. it's hard enough to get our gear as it is, without all the extra stuff/the added annoyance of getting gear we can't even use (if i had an ice wizard on my main account, she'd be set for life).

my balance wizard's boots have been m.i.a for several (going on 7) months now, but she's gotten at least two copies of everything else. it's like he's determined to keep me coming back, lol.

(dear mally: we went over this back in dragonspyre~ i have 3 exalted wizards and you'll see plenty more of me; so please give me my boots now, kthanksbye.)

ps: dear ki, please do me a favour:

1) tell mally that he is being totally unreasonable;
2) remind him that he withheld my level 50 robe until i was almost an archmage, and
3) offer hugs and fish-paste cupcakes in exchange for my boots.
