I came to my mind when I had tried going for the "One In A Million" badge. I had been using several different blades and traps to boost my ongoing attack. Though, I had a Storm Beetle (which gives a 25% damage blade to next spell) and I was about to use a Savage Paw treasure card (which gives a 35% damage blade) but realized it would only take my 25% away. So I thought, "Why not allow the players to command what spells they want to use their blades for?" So, instead of just automatically using up a blade (maybe even keep this idea in mind for traps as well) when using an attack card, maybe there should be an option right before you make the final decision on a spell to where you can choose blades/traps you want or don't want to use. For example: I have a Balance Blade, Elemental Blade, and Ice Blade on my character. I choose to use Ice Bird, which will deal 297 damage and give an Ice blade that will deal 45% damage to the next ice spell. But, after I click on the card, a list of the blades I have will appear near my character/name, along with a series of check-boxes next to each boosting spell. If I don't want to use any blades, I simply leave each box unchecked, and click a "Continue" or even a green check mark to make my final decision. (If allowing this to trap cards, a check-box will appear near the enemy's name with every trap card you have available on the opponent.) I know this may not be certain, but I just feel I could give out a helping hand and toss Kingsisle a few ideas every now and then.

Yes, I completely agree! I also wish that you could be able to choose how your traps were used. That would eliminate that issue of others using up your traps. You should be able to allow your traps to be used by others or "lock" them for yourself.
I don't mean to be rude, but it doesn't sound like you take time to consider your spells before you use them. You should take a couple seconds to skim over your hand and make a plan of what attack you're going to use, what are the current available charms and traps that will trigger, what order should I use them in. To be honest, you wouldn't run into that problem if you try what I mentioned above. Plan your battles instead of looking for shortcuts. It's much more fun when you defeat a boss because you planned well instead of defeating it because of some shortcut you can exploit.
