My idea is a simple one. If at the end of a battle, a maycast doesn't affect your character at all, don't cast it. Now let me give a few examples:
1) You're at full health at the end of the battle and your pet casts spritely. 2) After you kill the monster, your pet casts a blade spell
These types of casts should be programmed out of the game. All they really do is slow the game down, and aggravate those who feel their maycast doesn't happen enough. I just had 2 battles, and both battles, one a few seconds after the other, my jellyfish cast sprite after the last monster died, when I was already at full health.
