Spell Name: (A word that means protecting yourself from yourself? Maybe you guys can help me with this one.) Pip cost: 0, 1, or 2 (Once again, I want input from you guys on this.) Effect: -50% to next 3 Damage spells on self
I know that death has a full arsenal of spells that are damage to self for a favorable boost. Unfortunately, I know spells like this are very sparingly used due to the health cost of the spells. I think this would be a perfect spell to have to make the self damage spells more useful. In case anyone was wondering, I drew inspiration for this spell from fire's fuel spell and the threefold fever spell.
I am very conflicted about the pip cost of this spell. I want to say 0 because balance has 2 spells that place 3 shields on self. But since they are all for death on this spell, I want to say 1. I would say 2 if and only if the shields were increased to be 80% shields.
Obviously this spell would have to be a spell exclusive to the death school, or else death would have a very hard time in pvp.
I am a level 80 death wizard, and I would love to see this spell put into the game. What do you guys think of it?

Spell Name: Deathly Chains Picture on the Spell Card: Three Death shields in the corners of the frame, and dark blue and black colored chains connecting them so it makes a triangle. Pip Cost: 1 pip Effect: -60% to next 3 incoming self casted Damage to self only + 100 Damage after all shields are used Look of spell when casted: air around the duel circle gets darker, and then dark blue and black colored chains come out of the ground and circle the caster, then the Death Shields appear. But even after the spell is finished there are still chains linking the shields together. After all the Shields are used, the left over chains attack the caster dealing 100 Death Damage.
Inspiration for the name: When people got rabies, they would tie themselves to a tree or something so they would not attack other people or harm themselves when they went crazy. So they were protecting themselves from themselves.

I love this idea. the fact that you increased the value of the shields and added a recoil effect is really cool. The animation you described sounds awesome, since I was just expecting the shields to just "show up" like they would with elemental shield and spirit shield. This went above and beyond my expectations. Also, I like where you got your inspiration from, the rabies chaining idea was exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. And the fact that the shields are to be used exclusively on self damage spells gets rid of the issue of the shields being wasted.
A bit off topic, but I think the self hits should do Moon damage, so Death wizards don't lose their blades. I have found it annoying that other schools can use Dark Pact/Empower with more ease than the school that actually learns it.
I would use this, but I'd recommend only 2 self-protect shields, tops.
Does this have to be a death only spell? Fire might also be interested in this (immolate users).
The reason I had 3 is because death wizards are frequent users of self damage spells, so I figured having 3 of them together the same way fuel has 3 traps together would be acceptable.
Fire only has that one self damage spell, I figured just using one fire/volcanic/thermal shield would be enough. for them. Especially since the spell is a damage to self in return for damage to the opponent. I'm not an expert on fire, is immolate a spell pyromancers use multiple times in a row?

I can see this as a useful improvement, but the idea of these type of spells is to take you own health to heal another person or hinder the opponent, a concept that I think is best characterized by death, not really moon.
