The Life school

My main school, I dare say, is balance. My second-highest is life. She is level 20 now, and she's (I) upset because people are already making her the "healer". Yes, I can see her healing, of course, because that's a good thing. It should be her choice if she wants to be the healer or not!!!!!!!
Please notify me if you agree that this is an issue!!

Yes, it's an issue, and has been for a long time. Many people think that Life HAS to heal. Every school is capable of healing themselves; we all get a pixie early on. I feel your frustration - I've dumped many Life wizards due to this attitude and now have just turned off friend requests at lower levels because of this.

One of my first, and favorite, wizards is Life.

And it is, and always will be, my choice if she will be a healer or not...Simple as that.

Ok why did you choose life as a school?
Did you read what life does in understanding your school section of the game or web site?

Life is explained as a healing school so alot of times people expect you to use your heals to help them out when grouping. Now you donot have to listen to anyone because they arent your boss but if you want their help then offer yours as well.

Okay. I am a Life Wizard. I enjoy my school very much and if I do help somebody, I keep a nice even amount of heals and attacks in my deck. It is not too much of a problem at that point. However, there are times I will be fighting street monsters alone and somebody will come into the battle and demand healing. Usually, when I do fight alone, I have a special attacking deck that does not consist of healing spells simply because the battle will be finished shortly. I do not enjoy when people then criticize me for not being capable of healing in that particular battle. I know you did not necessarily mean it like that, but I am just pointing such situations out. For anybody who may be reading this, please do treat Life Wizards with respect because they also have their own battle strategies as well. They have a greater potential than some may realize.

People should be courteous enough to not demand things but you will run into those people. Just explain you were soloing and did not pack the heals. If they have an issue with that then that will be their problem.
Now its a different story if you are in a group as the healer then it is your job to heal.

Actually, it is not always the Theurgist's primary responsibility to heal in a group battle.

I often quest with my sisters, my brothers, my husband, and my son, all of whom are expert healers in their own right. Our groups generally consist of Life, Ice, Death, Storm, and variations with Balance and Fire. Everyone shares the responsibility to heal the team, because we care for one another, and we all take pride in the power of our heals. We garden for heals, craft heals, wear gear that provides heal spells; we all cultivate the power of Theurgy :)

This amazing level of cooperation allows my Promethean Theurgist to cultivate her true potential for damage, healing, and support of the team, all at the same time. Iridian takes pride in the power of her fully bladed damage spells, and she takes pleasure in healing her Ice sister, Promethean Thaumaturge Allison Winterblossom, from low to full health with one Satyr; lolz, it's likely that she cast Sanctuary a round or two earlier, and that another team member shared a heal charm or two with me so I could do 5500 with one Satyr. The best part of it all is that our entire family of wizards contributes equally to the battle. We are ready to blade, shield, heal, or otherwise boost the performance of everyone in our group, for the sheer fun of helping out a friend. That's the true value of grouping, and it doesn't require wizards to meet any stereotypes that others might seek to impose on their schools of magic.

It is simply not true that wizards must conform to the early descriptions of the schools of magic at this point in the evolution of the Spiral. With gardening, spell and gear crafting, pets, and mastery amulets, it is not at all necessary that Theurgists heal, Necromancers drain, Diviners flood, Pyromancers incinerate, Sorcerers blade others, Thaumaturges tank, Conjurers stun, or whatever is a special facet of the primary school of magic. We have transcended those limitations, and now we face the opportunity to redefine our magical abilities.

Warmest Regards,

Qbb/Iridian Shadowweaver, Promethean Theurgist/Master of Thaumaturgy, Sun, and Star Magic
