A Boss Farmer's Ideas

While farming the harlequin knight for his precious magma peas with my friend, Ronan Lighthaven, we get to talking. Kingsisle did a great job coming up with Wizard101, with the story, the characters, the spells, and even though some won't agree with me, the puns. This being set aside, we talked about some things that should see the light of day in the game, what improvements that may seem minor, but have major results. In turn we had about a two hour long discussion on what we thought could improve the game. So, here are the ideas we wanted to bring forth to the other Wizard101 players.

Boss and Minion intelligence
This may have been run through a few times in other posts, but the details and execution is usually a bit different. We all know about the bosses that cheat and sometimes that it can be a little overboard. I can understand one or two (unless it is darkmoor we are talking about), but smarter decisions in battle can also boost difficulty: healing when needing to be healed, protecting yourself when more blades and traps are around, stun if nothing else. The bosses should also be smarter than the minions.

Unique Cheats
I always remember Belloq the first time I fought him, having to adjust my strategy to defeat him. It may have been annoying at first, but after a while, grow to appreciate it. So, as much as some people may not like it at first, unique cheats would be a fun thing to make us think a little more. Say a boss, every three turns converts to his own school. Things similar to this could be implemented to not horribly damage the player, but provide some inconveniences.

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions
The thing that could change everything: free thinking. Say we had a choice in a quest or two (easiest to do in a dungeon). We could defeat 4 minions and then their boss, or go straight to the boss. If you go straight to the boss, he can summon minions throughout the battle, but if you defeat the 4 minions beforehand, he wouldn't. This may seem minor, but the application of free thinking could really affect people's interest.

Animations
Some animations are great like the tier 2 malistaire wand, the staves, and the standard wand, but some of them could see some improvement. Improvements in animation could provide more interest in various wand types.

Being Able to Revisit Worlds
This may seem like it is already done with dungeons, but what if we could see vast changes in the worlds like: The streets of Marleybone, the mountains of Dragonspyre, the Froudling's land of Avalon, the Deserts of Krokotopia, anything to let us see more variation in our beloved worlds.

More ideas will be posted by my friend and I as time goes by. Feel free to comment and tell us what you think of the ideas, and if you wish, post some of your ideas on here as well.
