I really like the weapon animations where the wizard appears in the middle and attacks. But I don't have one of those wands, I have a normal wand and I really wish normal wand could do something cooler. My idea is when a wand spell is selected, instead of doing the normal wand animation your wizard stays in their spot and shoots a magical multicolored blast ( depending on your school) at the monster. Kind of like on the commercial where the wizards are fighting Malistaire and the ice wizard freezes Malistaire's hand, you get what I'm saying. I would really like to see wizards shooting magical blasts at monsters, and maybe the heavier the attack the bigger the blast.
