I don't know if it's just me, but when I go to the hatchery and press "x" when I'm on the pad with someone else, nothing happens. Do you need to be a specific level or do you need to have two pets? I don't know if it's just my computer or if I just don't know the basics of hatching.

You're in the Pet Pavilion so I'm assuming you're level 7 or above... For a hatch match-up you need two pets at least adult level and the requisite amount of gold. The gold amount is variable depending on the level of the parents.
