With the new update a multitude of questions have arisen, and I need the answers.

1. Can there be equipment dropped that already has a jewel affixed to it?
2. Is flat damage added to a spell similar to a sun spell or not at all?
3. Are the metals used for jewel crafting ever going to be available for purchase like other reagents?
4. It's said that jewels can not be affixed to equipment that is above you're level, but can higher level jewels be attuned to items that you can equip?
5. When a pet eats an item with a jewel, is it just shattered or do rewards come from it as well?
6. Are jewels going to be sold like any other type of equipment?

Hello,

I'll do my best to answer some of your questions.

1) Items will not drop with Jewels already affixed.
2) Yes, it is exactly like a sun spell.
3) I'm not sure about this yet.
4) No, you can't use Jewels above your level.
5) If a pet eats an item with a Jewel socketed, the Jewel will be destroyed.
6) There are vendors who sell Jewels, yes.

A slight clarification on question #2. It is like a sun enchantment in that it adds a fixed amount of damage to a spell, but the calculations are a little different.

Sun enchant damage is added once to the base of the spell, before boosts from gear and buffs. If the spell has double hits, the boost is divided between them.

Jewel damage is added after the boost to gear from the base spell, so it doesn't get your gear bonus %, but still gets boosted by buffs like blades and traps. It is added to each hit of a double hit (or triple) and to the base of a DoT, then once again, divided between the ticks.

The end results aren't too different, but sun damage has an edge if you have high damage boost equipment. Jewel damage gains an advantage if you use spells with multiple hits.

7. I can understand jewels not being fused with clothing, but why not wands
8. Are sockets going to be inputted into crown items? And if so, are there going to be jewels sold in the crown shop
9. When in thejewel sack/pouch/bag, are you able to feed them to your pet, quick sell, or trash them to create more space
10. Are there going to be pvp only jewels? Can they be won through tournaments
11. Is flat damage acting as a natural absorb or as a negative sun spell
12. Side question, why are crown and pvp items the only pieces of equipment with stun resistance
13. Are there going to be transmute spells for the metal reagents or can they be bought in bundles in the crown shop

Thank you for taking the time to help us out :D
