I had an idea cross my mind that I am rather certain would be a good money maker for KI assuming two things: One, that it would be as technically easy as it would seem to be from my layman’s viewpoint, and two, that the reasonably minimal opportunity for abuse could be successfully countered.
The idea would be to sell, (nominally for crowns.) framed portraits, statues (suggested with shadow case,) and bobbleheads of the individual players.
As regards technical feasibility, I have seen many, many examples of NPCs turned into pets, mounts, portraits, statues, and bobbleheads. Whatever defines the look of an NPC should, in my mind, anyway, be no different than the digital record of individual players, and since it seems possible to adapt NPCs into a variety of forms, it should also be feasible to adapt the look of individual players, and theoretically, without elaborate process. (It might be that images such adapted could, in fact, take substantial effort to produce, and therefore not be useful to make single copies of the players, in which case this idea is a non-starter.)
I think it is clear that the potential rewards to KI, barring excessive production expenses, would be significant on a number of levels. I am certain that lots of players would love to “immortalize” their favorite characters and many others would enjoy portraits of their friends, (presuming that they could be gifted at purchase.) The one caveat I have is that I think the copies should be restricted to be made only of the player purchasing them, so that people can’t make copies of players who do not wish to be copied in such a fashion. Not only will these copies generate immediate income for KI, in making their characters more “real” and having them shown in their homes it will make the game that much more important to the players.
I'd like to see this idea taken to another level - Bobbleheads of some of the prominent NPCs of The Spiral. Imagine being able to display a line-up of some of the important characters in the main story line like Ambrose, Malistaire, Morganthe, Grumm, Sherlock Bones, Krokopatra, Chester Droors, the various professors and a myriad of others. These could be made available in the Crown Shop or maybe eventually on the shelf at Wal-Mart, Target, Toys-R-Us, Game Stop or other retailers. I wouldn't mind having a few of these on my shelf at home.
Two great ideas! Original Idea-In Wizard101 to be able to make and purchase Bobbleheads of your very own Wizard which I can share with my Wizard101 friends. Resell value should be very minimal* Second Idea-To be able to purchase real Bobbleheads toys of prominent Wizard101 NPC's from Wal-mart or Toys-R-Us.
Either way it's a win-win as KI will make plenty of "coins" and players can once again buy "chotskies" to display in both their actual home and in their Wizard101 castles!
*Hmm, when you come across a Beggar (and you will) give him a Bobblehead of yourself! That would be a hoot! A gift he can NEVER sell or give away!

Love the Ideas
Fantastic idea for the Beggar's Bobblehead! A gift he can NEVER sell or give away... I also think he should NEVER be able to remove it from his backpack so it will forever take up a valuable chunk of space. Also, after responding to this thread I purchased a Pack from the Crown Store and lo and behold there was a Ninja Pig Bobblehead in it! Up until then I didn't realize they were available. Of course it's a virtual bobblehead but still a fine item I must admit.
