mostly myth people will understand this but cyrus is just plain rude. in one of my quests for a new spell he tried to get me to go to another magic school. and everyone will understand this. he tried to get us expelled because he thought the problem on cyclops lane was our faul! why is he so mad? i seriously thought when i was fighting mallistare that he would join mallistare (then i wouldnt stand a chance) to get into dragonspyre i had to fight cyrus and i won so why cant he realize that all of us are useful wizards? (and some people think i take this game way too serious but idc.)

He starts to take a liking to you around celestia, he's really not mea he just has trouble showing his softer side.
Cyrus is probably mean because he is sad that malistaire is evil. It would be sad because cyrus is malistaires brother and we wizards are trying to defeat him.
Okay, think of it this way: If you've ever read or seen Harry Potter you know Snape? Well, think of him kind of like Snape. You think he's sort of rude and "evil" maybe, but in the end he's nice and he's working on your side. :) There's a certain level when he's nice to you. Ashley Deathflame, Balance, Level 64
If you think about it do the teachers remind you of anyone Cyrus for example reminds me of Snape and I guess he just has problems with Malistare being his brother and I think his mean to like he's trying to kill me off at the moment and it's working

well, let's see... if my sister-in-law died and my brother went completely nuts because of it, i'd be grumpy, too.
i like cyrus, and the rest of the drake family, but my heart breaks for them... i wasn't quite sure what to expect from him, the first time i went through malistaire's lair; like you, i thought we might have to fight him as well. but i was glad that he finally saw the light.
he's starting to be nice to my little myth wizard, finally. maybe i'll give him and malistaire some big hugs, and maybe some carnivorous bunnies...
