The chances are what you saw was stitched, IF you can even stitch the WW gear. I can assure you that gear IS NOT available to purchase in the crowns shop and is absolutely NO AUCTION.

Waterworks gear is not available for Crowns~ it can, however, be stitched with gear that was purchased from the Crown shop, or from the Bazaar.
For example, I was close to max gold... so I used 87K to buy the Guardian's Outfit from the Crown shop (because I'm cheap, haha) and stitched it to my WW gear. As a result, it now looks like the Guardian's Vestment, but has the Cape of Judgment's stats.
(if you're not familiar with stitching, it works like this: you pick the stats of one piece of equipment, and the appearance of another. Just make sure you don't mess it up. :P)
Your WW gear probably appears as No Auction, which is a term commonly associated with Crowns items (but also represents most rare boss drops). No worries, they aren't the same thing... No Auction simply means that they can't be sold at the Bazaar.
