you have 2 power pips, cast a rank 3 spell, all the pips are gone. we have all been there
my idea is that at lvl 30, if you have all power pips and cast an odd number spell, the last power pip should degrade, like if you have 2 power pips and cast a rank 3 spell, you should be left with a normal pips, using up the first and changing the second

PS. i might get "but what if you want all power pips?" you can just recast that spell right?
Other places this sort of thing happens: 4 Powers Pips, rank 7 spell, or 3 Powers rank 5 spell, or worst yet 7 power pips, rank 7 spell from other school. All are horrid places. Taotly agree

In all things there can be peace, yet there are always problems
I know. It's really been bugging me lately, especially my high level wizards that get all power pips.
I do think the power pip should turn to white if you're casting a 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 pip spell. It's such a waste to lose all your pips and have to start over.
One of my wizards, an Archmage Sorceress (Balance), gets dinged an entire power pip every time I cast a tri-blade or tri-trap. I try to use these as little as possible, as I need all the pips I can get to make the hit before the mobs/bosses get me first.
I think it shouldn't matter what level you are, if you have a power pip and you're casting a spell, trap, or blade that requires only one pip (or any odd number), then the power pip should degrade down to a white one. At least you'll have something to work with the next round.
