For those of you that were confused by the title, PVM would mean player vs mob gear. Meaning that you cant bring it into pvp because it would be unfair/uneven/too hard, what have you.
I've seen and heard far to many people complain about gear that's too strong for pvp but then in turn complain that there isn't gear strong enough for some of the mobs and the up-coming bosses and such.
A way to combat this is.. SEPARATE the gear, have two different sets. Gear that's dropped can be used in pvp, gear that's quested for cannot. Or something even completely different, perhaps a mini-game to obtain such items.
We all know how great our water works gear is and we have all become very attached to it, but after some light reading in the forums, it turns out that it (ww gear) may become completely useless. I for one, am not willing to make gear that will drop my resistance, damage and power pips, just for slightly more critical rating and block with the addition of some health and mana. Why cant KI keep both people happy?
In terms of the gear, i'd suggest some decent (not too high) resist, power pips, critical, block, damage, accuracy and so on. I cant really imagine there being a downside to this because from what I've already heard, The new upcoming world is going to be tough.
And then, on the PVP side of things.. I'd like to suggest some new pvp gear, perhaps a new wand? or new armor too, something to compete with but not far too over powered, something that must be earned and hard to obtain.
I'd really love to hear everyones thoughts on my suggestions, with the addition of moderators and staff alike.
