Someone posted a while ago, that Spectral Blast could be controlled.
That there was a way to control if it hit for Ice, Fire or Storm.
For some reason the name "Solstice64" rings a bell when I think of this, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, has anyone every tried to do this?

I have tried TC fire, storm and Ice Blades, it has no effect at all.
I have tried the TC Fire, Storm, and Ice Aura's and they have no affect at all.
I have tried the TC Fire, Storm, and Ice Traps, and they have no affect at all.

Anyone have any idea's or suggestions for me to try?

Thanks,
Joe.

From everything I have experienced and/or read about Spectral Blast, it is entirely random.

I did find some interesting discussions about this on one of the fansites. Here is a link to just one of them in case you are interested:

Yeah I control my blasts too......along with my drop rates, Spritely casts, and ensuring I go first every time.

Jump up and down three times before every battle. Unequip and requip your wand. Select "Good Boy" in menu chat. Finally, use the emote "dance" for fire, "shrug" for ice, or "wave" for storm.

I guarantee this will work 33% of the time for Spectral Blast.

Ok, I will reveal my secret for all you Balance wizards to know. This has been my secret for a super long time now, and I can't hold on to it forever. Here it is, unto your eyes, the magic of getting around shields:
Depending on what the opponent is, or what gear the opponent is wearing, it's about clicking:
Head results in the Storm Strike
The waist results into a Fire Strike
Feet and legs result into an Ice Strike

There are SOME exceptions though!:
If you click at the very top of the opponent's head, you get an Ice Strike
If you click around the opponent's sides, it will either hit Fire or Ice, depending if waist or legs.
Clicking on the name-tag resolves into a completely RANDOM strike!
Clicking on the lights resolves into a completely RANDOM strike!

Hopefully this helps you out Balance wizards, my teaching are going unto you
