I had the seamstress make me a new hat with the appearance of one I liked and the attributes of one I didn't. How can I change the color of the new hat? When I go to my backpack to see what I've 'energized' and am wearing, it doesn't show up.
When you stitch, the item whose appearance you like it removed from your backpack. The item whose stats you like now looks like the item whose appearance you liked, but it kept it's previous name. If you happened to be have been wearing it at the time, it would have been removed (unequipped), but it would still be in your inventory (backpack).
To change it's color, run down to the dye shop. Personally, I find it cheaper to dye before I stitch.
