Why is it that sometimes I'm able to edit my posts, but most of the time I can't?

Well now it seems I'm able to edit every single post of mine. What a coincidence.

There's a very short window after a post is approved and displayed on the forums when the OP is able to edit.

Sometimes, I don't even realize my post has been approved and posted before Edit ability is already gone.
