The Big Day by Erica SilverFlame

“Oh no,” Lily said, shaking her blonde hair. “I’m not ready for this. Nope nope nope, I’m done goodbye!”

“Oh no you don’t,” Luke said as he grabbed her arm. “I listened to you complain for 5 days now. You are NOT leaving!”

I leaned on the rocky wall and watched the twins bicker. Lily was a complainer. Her brother, Luke, was a fire wizard, and he was known for his temper. The two did not mix well together.

Lily had complained about everything that had gone wrong that day, and Luke was sick of it. “You’re our only healer! If you leave now, we’ll never defeat Malistaire!” Luke yelled.

“Says you! You’re a FIRE wizard! You guys have, like, one of the best attacks of all the schools! You don’t understand what it’s like to be a life wizard!” Lily yelled back.

“Alright, knock it off,” Ethan said in a deep voice as he pushed the twins apart.

The twins reluctantly stopped fighting and looked up at Ethan. Ethan never said much, but when he did he never had to repeat himself. His personality went well with his power; cold and sharp.

Ethan looked at Lily, who was still red in the face from yelling. “Lily, you know life wizards are very strong, and you’re one of the best. Please stay with us.”

Lily’s blush deepened. She had a soft spot for Ethan. “Okay. Fine. I’ll stay,” she said.

“Alright Madeline, what’s the plan?” Luke asked, his arms crossing.

Leadership was my specialty. As a storm wizard, my attacks are always filled with power. I had respect from my group. My crazy ideas make people tremble but they always held to the end. My plans never failed.

Well, almost never.

“Lily, you’re our healer, so only bring healing spells. I don’t know what Malistarie has planned for us, but it won’t be easy,” I said.

Lily nodded her head, and began sorting her deck.

“Ethan, you’re our defense-man. I want mass shields on all of us, and blades on Luke and I,” I said.

Ethan blinked his brown eyes. He approved of my plan.

“Luke, you and I are the only ones who will attack. Blade yourself and then attack. You’re fire-skills will be needed greatly. We need that overtime damage.”

Luke gripped his staff and let a cold breeze swish through in agreement.

I turned and faced the group. “I am going to be using tempst and storm lord like Malistarie has never seen before,” I said.

I smiled one of my craziest smiles, realizing what we were about to do. After straightening my hat, I walked in through the large doors, my group following close behind.

“Oh Malistere,” I sang, “ we’re coming for you.”
