Wizard101 is Always Bursting with Fun!

We are so happy to have you join with us in celebrating Wizard101’s Ninth Birthday this year. In fact, even though our actual birthday is September 2nd, we’ve already begun the celebration! The usual decorations are appearing throughout Wizard City, there’s a code with tons of prizes, and we’ve supplied our official fan sites (and a few other popular Wizard101 fan stops) with tons of Crowns Codes and more! Needless to say, it’s going to be a great month.

August was also a fun month in Wizard101! Between House-a-Palooza, our huge Back to School sale, and Bundle-a-Palooza, we’ve been very busy offering you discounts and promotions galore! Hopefully you had a chance to join us for the most “dabtastic” KI Live ever, where we interviewed PJ Hoover, played through the Fantastic Voyage Gauntlet (also giving away 10 of them away for free), and giving a sneak peek from the Pirate101 Development servers.

Read on for more information about your favorite game. Thank you all in advance for your birthday wishes . . . here’s to our ninth birthday and beyond!

Developer Mini-Interviews

Developer Spotlight: Randy Taintor

Favorite thing about Wizard101? The parodies of shows and movies I like. I love the B.O.X.E.S. event because I am a fan of Doctor Who as well as the historical reference made in Polaris with the over throw of the Bolshevik revolution. I’m most excited about the next world because it references a lot my two favorite science fictions. I’m such a fan of these that I tattooed them to my arms!

Favorite thing about working at KingsIsle? The Integration and commutation between people. At past companies, people and departments wouldn’t always talk to each other unless they would have to. Here we talk about work but also openly discuss what is fun about it and what we can improve. Finally what I think is more important about Integration and communication between people is the non-work related stuff. We enjoy running, gaming and see movies together as well as caring when someone is sick or a member of their family. It has allowed us to become a family.

Have you ever had a nickname? What is it? My nickname is Bang Bang, and it’s not what you think it is. You see my Middle name is “Chitty, which is a family name passed down to me, and kids use to sing Chitty Chitty bang bang when they discovered my middle name, which later was shortened to “Bang Bang.”

What song would you say best sums you up? I am a big Sea Shanty fan! I grew up with them, and they are something I can easily come back to when I need something to listen and can’t decide. “Spanish Ladies” I would say is the sea shanty song that sums me up. It’s a song about a British sailor saying good bye before taking the long voyage home with his crew. Life is a voyage; you know your destination but not what you will encounter before you get there. Best thing you can do is expect the worst, hope for the best. After all, a smooth sea never made a good sailor.

Screenshot of the Month!

We love receiving screenshots from our players every month. Your captured (and staged) moments are amazing! We’ve seen synchronized mounts, pets playing king of the hill, and every battle spell in the game. Thank you and keep them coming. We appreciate your creativity.

Wow! We knew there were creative ways of getting around houses, but this one is amazing! Marissa found her way to a spot that most players can’t think of reaching. The Celestial Wolf mount, wings, and halo are also a nice touch within the Ice Class House. Well done!

As a reminder, please only send us your best three screenshots every month to community@wizard101.com if you’d like to participate. For more tips, check out this blog post with helpful screen shot hints. Don’t forget to press Control+G before you snap your picture!

There are many special mounts in the Spiral and Duelist101 shared how special the stat boosting mounts really are.

Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, this is goodbye to Ditto Monster for now.

Most wizards have questions about the Spiral; Vanessa Mythdust looked into these curiosities.

Several castles come with an arena circle; Duelist101 displayed the many arena circles that can be found in each of these castles.

After crafting the Watchtower Hall, Blaze LifeHammer looked at all the other craftable castles.
