Spring in the Spiral

March is shaping up to be an exciting month in the Spiral. Seasonal festivities abound with Pat O’Gold arriving in the Wizard City Shopping district on March 9, 2016 to sell lots of lucky green items. Then in the second half of March, Eggbert will return to help celebrate the coming of spring.

For those who love to fish, special holiday fish appear with both the arrival of Pat O’Gold and Eggbert. The Cold Cod has been enjoying the icy waters of winter. But it will be leaving to make room for the Springfish, and its festive sun hat, on the first official day of spring, March 20, 2016.

Year of the Monkey

February 8, 2016 marked the beginning of the Chinese New Year. And according to the Chinese zodiac, this is the year of the monkey. Those born in the sign of the Monkey are considered to be intelligent, sociable and curious. In the Spiral, the Monquistans share many of these traits as well. Wizards who visit the Saltmeadow Swamp in Azteca will meet Ponce de Gibbon and his shipwrecked crew. For those who love a good monkey-related pop culture reference in their quest names, Azteca is a gold mine! Can you name the references in the quests “Brass Monkey,” “Hey Hey It’s the Monkeys” and “Funky Monkey”? Players lucky enough to get the now retired Pagoda Gauntlet Bundle have one of the cutest pets in the Spiral, the Shaolin Monkey.

Who could these shadowy creatures be? Do you think their presence is a bad omen for the Spiral?

KingsIsle Goes To SXSW

This month, KingsIsle Entertainment will have a booth at the South by Southwest Gaming Expo in Austin, Texas. We’ll be there all three days of the event to show off the latest in Wizard101, Pirate101 as well as our new mobile games. Get a first look at AlphaCat, meet the developers and maybe even win some cool prizes. Also on Saturday, March 19, KingsIsle developers will be hosting a panel about how to get in to the video game industry.
