Harold Argleston's Book of the Month Club

Book of the Month

Harold Argleston, LibrarianThis is the June 2013 installment of my Book of the Month Club. These books have been suggested by a fellow Librarian from Earth, her name is Kit Ward-Crixell and she is a librarian in New Braunfels, Texas, USA.

We continue our safari of books with more Zafaria themed tales, and our book for June is African Princess by Joyce Hansen, illustrated by Laurie McGraw. This book has gorgeous pictures and true stories about real African princesses!

Did you know that Princess Amina was a great warrior with a beautiful Arabian horse? Or that Princess Taytu of Ethiopia saved her country from signing a treaty that would cheat them because she studied so hard and knew so much about law? How about that Princess Elizabeth of Uganda was a famous fashion model and represented Uganda at the United Nations?

All the princesses in this book are strong and smart, and best of all; all of them are real people too!

Look for this book in your school or local library and enjoy reading, young Wizards!
