Harold Argleston's Book of the Month Club

Harold Argleston, Librarian
This is the January 2011 installment of my Book of the Month Club. These books have been suggested by a fellow Librarian from Earth, her name is Kit Ward-Crixell and she is a librarian in New Braunfels, Texas, USA.

This month we begin looking at books that remind us of the world of Grizzleheim. Inspired by Norse mythology, Grizzleheim is an airy, outdoor landscape of snowy mountains, glacial ridges and towering trees that is home to three new Wizard101 tribes - Bears, Wolves and Ravens.

Lone Wolf is the first book in a new series called Wolves of the Beyond by Kathryn Lasky. If you liked Kathryn Lasky’s Guardians of Ga’hoole series, try this story of an outcast wolf pup named Faolan who has to survive without his pack. There are some sad parts in this story, but there’s a hopeful ending that leads right into the next book in the series, Shadow Wolf.

Look for this book in your school or local library and enjoy reading, young Wizards!

Gardening Hints & Tips
Our latest addition to the game, Gardening, has brought many hours of spell casting and harvesting fun, but it has also brought with it some questions.

How do I Harvest?
Only plants that have reached the Mature level can be harvested. Plants that have needs or bad pests cannot be harvested, so make sure you take care of your plants first! Once they're free of needs or bad pests, simply close your Gardening panel and approach the plant. A "Click X to Interact" option will appear and you will harvest items from the plant! Once a plant has reached the Elder stage, it can only be harvested one last time before it disappears.

Are there Good Pests?
Yes! Most definitely! One of the early good pests you will see is the Pixie. If you see a Pixie on your plant, you must be doing something right! Well done, young Wizards, you truly have a 'green thumb'!
