Test Realm for the Spring Update is Now Open!

null

Test Realm is now open on the weekdays for the Spring Update! Last week on KI Live (see it below) we gave you a sneak peek of what’s coming. As some of you guessed, Wizard City revamp is being completed! The sparkle and dazzle of so many original areas have received a complete facelift. You’re going to love exploring these areas all over again.

Much more was added as well. Stay tuned for regular updates throughout the Test Realm period!

We hope to have the changes out to all of you on the live servers once we’re satisfied with the results. Until then, if you are available and have a Membership, we need your help to test out the build on Test Realm and discover all the bugs and issues with the update that we missed!

Thanks, community, for helping us to ensure this build is ready for the live servers!

Keep watch on Twitter and Facebook, as well as the Official Forums, for regular updates on the Test Realm and when the Spring Update goes to the live servers.

KI Live with Sparck & Professor Falmea

Not only is spring here, but we’ve got new gameplay content first revealed on KI Live! Watch the show on KingsIsle’s YouTube channel below:

A Wizard101 tip from this month’s KI Live comes from community member Lookit Light:

“It's wise to have two spell decks: one for bosses and one for regular mob fights. That way, you aren't clogged up with cards you need for one, but not the other!”

Zone of the Month: Pigswick Academy in Wysteria

null

The traditional and ever popular Zone of the Month is back with a discounted offer! This month we’re featuring Pigswick Academy in Wysteria. Access to this area usually requires 1,000 Crowns, but because this is our zone of the month, we’ve discounted this area to 700 Crowns through April 18!

Name: Pigswick Academy

Location:

Pigswick Academy is located in a once-deserted, vine-covered city in the verdant world of Wysteria.

Description:

Founded by a disgraced former student of Ravenwood named Sir Bainbridge Pigswick, Pigswick Academy is a rival school of magic to Ravenwood however, their core tenants and philosophy of Magic couldn’t be more different. For instance, Pigswick adherents believe that the source of all Magic is the Fount of Magic, a fountain that (conveniently) presides on their campus. The “Pigswick Method” of magic instruction teaches that students should be exposed only to theoretical discussion, as opposed to actual spell-casting, and that “a restful attitude is the true path to magic” … and it shows. Despite their fervent distaste for practical study or trying in general, the faculty at Pigswick Academy still thinks it’s a good idea to host a Spiral-wide magical duel competition.

Secrets:

Hey, come on try a little and you just might find those elusive Wallflowers, especially if you keep at least one headlight on the doorway across the street from Bleys, the Goblin-less area of the street in front of the Crystal Tower, the second alcove of the Stacks, and the back wall across the street from where Lord Bramble is planted.

Don’t Miss This Side Quest!!

The Side Quest “In the Stacks” is given by Librarian Hugo Chatterly.

Who’s That Boss?

Lord Bramble – Ruler of those who inhabited the abandoned city that became Pigswick Academy, Lord Bramble goes to great lengths to restore the land to its “natural” overgrown state.

A Peek Behind the Dev Process:

The basic art and architectural design of Pigswick Academy and the associated Wysteria streets were actually taken from elements of a KingsIsle game that never launched. Never one to waste hard work, the KingsIsle Devs worked tirelessly to convert those assets into the beautiful and thoughtfully constructed world to fit the Wysteria story.
