| | | | | Hair-raising!
Greetings from the Spiral! I'm Halston Balestrom, and while students of Storm Magic will know my name, I wanted to introduce myself to all young Wizards at Ravenwood. It's April already and this is a very special month that will hold many happy surprises for students of all Schools. Our fansites are hosting lots of contests, there are new events in the Spiral coming soon, players will have the much-requested ability to change hair styles soon, and much, much more! Read on!

Coming soon: Hair Styles!
We have long recognized that one of the most requested features for young Wizards is the ability to remove their hats, as well as to change their hair. Now you can do both on the Test Realm with one simple item: a hair style!
Hair Styles can be purchased on the Test Realm in Accessories section of the Crown SHOP. You will be required to choose a color when you make the purchase as these Hair Styles cannot be dyed. Hair Styles can be stitched to hats and Hair Styles will also be available as rewards from bosses throughout the Spiral (in random colors)!
|
There are five styles to begin with:
- The Housemartin - a short over the ear cut for both males and females
- The Kestrel - a short above the shoulders cut with sweeping bangs for both female and male
- The Martlet - same cut as the Kestrel, but with an added accessory for both male and female
- The Owl - a medium length cut with sweeping bangs for both female and male
- The Swan - a stylish up-do for female characters and a wavy short style for males
|
As we gauge the popularity of these Hair Styles, we may look to add new styles both with and without accessories.

| | | | | Coming soon: Events
A study group found a book that was supposed to be shelved in the restricted section of the library, and when they opened it up, they were possessed by its strong, dark magic. This magic was so powerful, so far reaching, that it touched six of our worlds, and found affinity with not only the students, but other creatures in the Spiral, binding them all to this magic’s will.
All Wizards who have completed "Unicorn's Folly" quest in Unicorn Way, come see me on the Test Realm in the Wizard City Library at once, for I need you to investigate further!
Rewards for participating in the Lost Pages Events will scale to your level and the level of the creatures you are facing. A level 90 Wizard in Unicorn Way isn't going to get high level rewards, so seek out appropriate challenges for your level.

| | | | | | We're proud to add two new Gaming Sites to our official Fansite List. Gaming Portal sites write articles and news about Wizard101, as well as many other games. Content on these sites may not always be appropriate for our younger players, so parents please review before your underage children visit.

| | | | | | | Book of the Month
This is the April 2013 installment of my Book of the Month Club. These books have been suggested by a fellow Librarian from Earth, her name is Kit Ward-Crixell and she is a librarian in New Braunfels, Texas, USA.
We continue our safari of books with more Zafaria themed tales, and our book for April is The Viper's Nest (The 39 Clues series, book 7) by Peter Lerangis. If you haven't started reading this great series of books about siblings Amy and Dan Cahill and their high-stakes worldwide treasure hunt, you will probably want to start with book 1, The Maze of Bones, by Rick Riordan. Either way, check out book 7, where Dan and Amy travel to Africa and learn about Shaka Zulu, the great Zulu warrior. Look on the 39 Clues website for lots of activities too!
Look for this book in your school or local library and enjoy reading, young Wizards!

We have a wonderfully creative community that love to draw and we thought it would be fun to give you the steps it takes to draw some of our most beloved characters!
Each month the Ravenwood Bulletin Newsletter will include a 'How to Draw...' feature that will show you the steps to draw a doodle of a Wizard101 creature, and a sheet to print out to practice on.
