Odd as it may seem the Waterworks gear is about the best all around set you are going to get or have from here on. There are bits of gear you can get dropped or crafted on a few items but by and large the WW gear is a main stay.
I craft the Wintertusk helmet for the extra blade and boots in Avalon for the critical block and farm for the Wyd Oak Staff.
