Hello Lucy, and welcome to the message boards! For the record, this belongs in the Ravenwood Commons I believe, but I'll answer anyway. When you're going to try to kill a certain monster, say, Graustark but not his minion, that's a Focus attack. Or possibly by using an astral spell on a card. I'm not too sure myself. ~-R. .N.A.N-~

It is simply a grammatical subtlety you are missing.
For example, when someone menu chats "Everyone Focus attack on the Boss", it means everyone should focus their attacks on the Boss, ignoring any other mob.
Just think of Admiral Akbar in Return of the Jedi..."Concentrate all firepower on that Super Star-Destroyer!"
