what should spells be like?

what do you prefer to be used in spells? things from a certain world, or things unique to a school? for example, what if the new life minion would not had been a creature from avalon, but instead was a life creature, such as a treant or forest lord?

I personally prefer themes--certain spells from Spiral locations just don't make any sense to me. What does a Spinosaurus have to do with Life? What does a Calendar have to do with Myth? That's just confusing in my opinion, but I don't see these getting changed. At least they are professionally well-made and fun to watch.

However, if I had my way...
  • Why not use some kind of prehistoric tree spirit for life, since life already has two tree spells?
  • Why not incorporate some Aztec mythology for myth? Quetzalcoatl would have been an easy spell choice (god on which the Quetzal serpents were based, but I guess Fire stole that one).
  • Why not have a Storm Tlaloc spell (Aztec god of storm)? What do owls have to do with Storm magic, or the world of Azteca? Nothing at all.
