Ok, I know that we have talked about this a lot, but after finishing Azteca recently, it dawned on me that KI could EASILY implement this idea. Know why? After you beat Azteca, the place is forever getting bombed by ice particles. if you havent completed it, you dont see it, but if you and a friend both are on the same world at the same time, if they finished it, they will see it and you wont. How is this ANY different from daytime and nighttime? It really is NO different.

It's totally different. There's no way that KI can make this game day/night in your time zone. People from many different countries play together here. Example: it's 2pm where I am now. That means it's 2am or later/earlier in Australia. So how would you program this into night/day? Especially if we're playing together.

How does it show the meteors falling for somebody who completed Azteca but not for those who dont? it really is the same thing. If you and I are playing together, and you didnt finish Azteca, you dont see the meteors, but since I finished it, I do. It's simply an effect based off of a condition. Changing the background for night/day/etc is simply an effect based off of an condition. Im not saying it would be EASY, what Im saying is that we're halfway there already with Azteca

As for timezone, the game could easily tell from where you log in from, it could get the info from your internet provider's address mask, it could even be an option in the options menu for us to designate what our timezone is. If your LOCAL time is (for examples):

7AM - show morning (medium light)
12PM - show afternoon (brightest light)
5PM - show darkness (lowest light, supplemented by street lights, all monsters would be brighter to show where they are)

General comment: I think saying that "timezone effects are impossible" is limited thinking. Hell, we already HAVE nighttime skies and daytime skies, just not going at the same time.
