You are, I don't know, level 1. You become level five. You could then get a mount for 1 day. And so on every five levels until level 15. Then every 10 levels until level 45. After that you wouldn't get a mount again until level 60. Then you would finally get a permanent mount at 60. These mounts would be only a 20% speed bonus. You wouldn't get another mount after this. No auction or trade for these.

We already get a mount when completing the main storyline quests in Unicorn Way so your level 5 mount is unnecessary.
I don't know if KI would consider the temp mounts up to level 60, but honestly, I wouldn't equip anything at 20% anyway.
And KI will never just give you a permanent mount, as evidenced by the fact that none are dropped in game. This is a money maker for them. Sorry!

I also don't see the need for temp mounts throughout the game given as rewards. Whenever I get a temp mount that is only 20% I trash it.
As for dropped mounts...there are some mounts dropped in game. I have gotten several Kirin mounts in kembaalung and also the manner panaquin(sp?) from house of scales. Both have dropped from the secret bosses. I have also gotten a few fairy wings from the B.O.X.E.S event as a drop.
There is also plenty of mounts in crown shop you can purchase with gold.
IMO, KI has done a great job of making it possible for people to get mounts without having to spend any real money.
