How about a spell that would let you combine two of your existing spells? Here's how it would work:

First, in the following an attack spell is defined as something that does damage, not something like a trap. At the same time, a cast on self card can be anything you cast on yourself - a healing card, a shield, blades, and so on.

now on to the technical details:

Click on the combining spell, then click either an attack spell or a cast on self spell. That's the spell that will be cast.
Now click on something like blades, traps, shields and so on. That's the spell that will be set when you cast the attack or cast on self.

This allows the caster to make truly unique combo spells like are already in use in the game. Obviously the spells have to be in the caster's hand, this has to be done in combat and any that don't get used are removed from the game when the battle is over. The advantage in the PVE part of the game should be obvious. The advantage in the PVP part of the game is that your opponent will have no clue what's going to happen, and may not be able to plan a good defense ahead of time. Makes PVP a lot more challenging.

Restriction is:
You can only combine traps, weakens, dispels and so on, with attack cards
You can only combine blades, shields, absorbs and so on with cast on self.

Exception:
You can combine global boosts such as darkwind with either cast on self or attack cards

You CAN combine a cast on self with something that is normally placed on all targets when cast alone, such as guidance or brilliant light.
you CAN combine a cast on enemy with something that is normally placed on all targets when cast alone, such as windstorm and fuel.
