Shield Enchants and Double Critical

This idea is crazy... i know.. but our shields could really use a boost right about now. Our attacks have them, our blades have them, our traps have them, and our heals have them... but our shields dont. I think being able to enchant a life shield to -90% would be great. It would work just as all other sun spells work. Anyone else?

Also, a double critical chance would be neat. The chance would be really low, but it would allow for the attack to be quadrubled and your enemy would have to block one to make it double damage, twice for normal. Anyone else?

I posted similar to the "double critical" you are talking about, when "crits" first arrived. Here is what I said: Crits though fun, should not be a major part of the game, and occur regularly. They should not also be blocked, as a crit that is blocked, serves no purpose. I posted that a crit should occur no more than 5 % (1-20), and out of these crits, 10 %(1-10) should be "Catastrophic", and do quintuple damage. Following that, a crit would be a rare and inspiring feat, that would always deal an impressive, if not fatal blow. As it stands now, criticals are common place, and so are the blocks; they are the norm, and not the rare exception.
Expanding on my previous post, I would also add a small chance of a "Critical Fumble" to spells. I'm undecided on the percentage, but when a crit is successful, there is also a small chance it will backfire and hit the caster, or even both the caster, and the target. This would add a small measure of chaos and flavor, into what has become a bland combat system.

Will the enchanted shield be only have 10 added to the shield?

Though this is a good idea, what level should the player be when they can attend the shield enchanted spell?
