When I arrived in the Dragon's Roost for the first time, I felt that entering the Great Spyre was way too easy. The Spirit Guards were there, but they're not preventing living Wizards from entering right now. Their orders from Malistaire should be to stop anyone from entering the Great Spyre, and that only by beating the best of Dragonspyre's toughest military higher-ups could grant them access to the Great Spyre after they beat them in duels. And, there seems to be no magical blockade of sorts at the Great Spyre's entry door. I think there should be a new major storyline quest that takes place after "The Last Dragon Rider" and before "The Final Countdown", that should consist of at least three bosses to battle. The first two, which can be summoned by using small crystals laid around in the Dragon's Roost, would be the spiritual former tough high military generals gone corrupt, and the last being the highest, most feared commander Dragonspyre had seen. Defeating two of them in order will make the blockade seemingly disappear, but the entrance can't be opened unless the Wizards defeat their highest commander in a duel, which appears after they beat them. After defeating the highest commander, the magical blockade can be broken, the defeated military spirits would be free from Malistaire's grasp, and the Spirit Guards would no longer obey Malistaire's orders. After that, the Wizards talk to the beaten highest commander that broke free from Malistaire's magical grip, and the quest would be completed. Optional rematches from the bosses would be allowed after the quest was finished.
Well, going into the Great Spyre shouldn't be as easy as it is today. Would you feel the same thing that I felt when I first arrived there? Well, you would be. Think of it.
