This idea came about for 2 reasons. The first was because I always felt that healing acting different from attacks should have been changed, and second, from the many people who were upset with the new critical hit system in relation to healers. We all know that the critical hit system has changed, and that for the people who have less of a chance of criticalling, who are healers, this can be a big thing. I feel with the following 2 simple steps, we could remove critical healing entirely because it would never be needed again.
1 Take all outbound healing boosts, half them (rounding fractions down), add them to INCOMING healing boost, then remove outbound healing boosts from ALL items in the game
2 Change gear boost from boosting damage only to boosting ALL schools’ spells
Let’s look at an example of my life wizard’s current stats (set up as damage not healer):
So, using those numbers, here’s what it would look like with my proposed changes:
Current method using a 400 pt healing spell on myself would yield:
400 (healing spell) + 68 (17% outbound) + 149 (32% inbound) = 617 for myself 400 (healing spell) + 68 (17% outbound) = 468 for allies (before their incoming bonus)
Proposed Method using a 400 pt healing spell on myself would yield:
400 (healing spell) + 320 (80% gear school spell boost) + 273 (inbound healing) = 993 for myself 400 (healing spell) + 320 (80% gear school spell boost) = 720 for allies (before their incoming bonus)
Yes, this seriously increases healing, but without critical heal, it balances out. I think this more than makes up for the critical healing issues, and returns critical hit and block to the basic 2 step process. Critical heals already are the anomaly to the critical system since they’re never blocked. This would remove the anomaly, and still yield the results the healers are looking for, while totally eliminating chance from the equation.
Also, keep in mind this would only benefit those wizards who used standard healing spells. life sap spell would not be affected by this. The ONLY way life saps would ever be affected by this, is if the healing portion of the life sap took advantage of inbound health boosts, and I am NOT asking for that in this post
Now, before I finish this post, I understand that this could seriously change PvP. If this change would harm PvP, then I leave it to YOU, the PvP crowd, to come up with your own alternative to it. It’s not that I don’t want PvP to benefit, I just don’t do it so am ignorant how this would affect you guys.
That is incredibly broken and over-favors Life. Basically you want 100% of all heals to effectively critical. Besides, it completely destroys any specialization Life has. Just revert the critical changes, problem solved.

they're not reverting the changes back. They've said it. So we need to come up with new ideas. it only favors life because they have more healing spells than others, but other schools have healing spells too. Life, Balance, Fire, Storm, and Death all have healing spells. However, this effects everybody who casts healing spells. How does it destroy specialization? Life will always be the powerhouse healers; they have more healing in their arsenal.
As for having all healing spells critical, there's this wonderful thing that's been invented called TWEAKING AN IDEA. Dialog is how ideas are fleshed out, not by relying on something that wont happen and bashing other people's ideas. Try being constructive instead of bashing an idea just because you dont think it will work. The WHOLE purpose of these forms, when discussing new ideas, is not to bash, but to collaborate and try to find new ways of doing things. Dont like my idea? No problem, come up with one of your own instead of making yourself feel superior by putting other ideas down.
what they need to do is 1. give life and balance 2 sets of gear, one focus for damage, and one focus for healing.
