I think that it you should be able to get your training points back using gold as well. When I first started Wizard101 i wasted a lot of training points on myth and balance (i'm storm) Now i'm legendary and I think that you should be able to buy your training points back for 120 thousand gold. It might seem a little high to some people but its a fair price because its your mistake so I dont mind paying to fix it.
Exchanging your secondary spells for your training points costs Crowns. The more points you've spent, the higher the cost.
The other option is to start a new Wizard and level them up through time, spending the points as you wish.
