Instead of going all way back to Merle's office, it'd be cooler if we had a movie scene once we finish a world. The movie scene could be triggered by a badge that we get once we finish the world. Either he pops up or it's a vision like we're looking into a crystal or whatnot. I rather him pop up imo. But he would say the standard message. "Congratulations, Wizard! I've heard about what you've done here. Excellent work. You can now go and have a break. If we hear anything else, we'll call you."
This could also apply to our professors if we have new pets or spells to get. They could pop up and say "Student, we have something new for you. Come to the classroom once you can."

either that, or, when we talk to the last person of that world, Merle teleports to us and goes thru his speil, then teleports back home. This way, we can still talk to him in "real time" but he comes to us. i think after 100 levels, we've earned his respect and that little bit of porting shouldn't be a big deal for a wizard of his skills
