I have seen on an earlier thread that abandoning quests won't be implemented due to players crying (I do believe that was the verb used) that they can't find the quest again
I propose a solution, an overhaul to the questing ui
For starters, instead of the questing tab directing you to all your active quests, instead, it directs you to a screen where you can choose a world. This page would include greyed out worlds (implying there are no active quests) Question marked worlds that imply a new quest in that world has just been picked up Exclamation marked worlds show where your current active (the one that your compass brings you to) is located at And regular colored worlds implying that there are pending quests in that region
Clicking the world would direct you to a screen where : areas can be selected: altar of kings, palace of fire, etc as well as the main world: krokotopia (this roll include quests such as book quests that span throughout the whole world) Same coloring rules apply (normal, greyed, exclamation, question)
Once in, you reach a similar questing screen that we already have available to us
To remedy the abandon quest issue, on the top right of every page will be a number (ex: 1345/5457) that signifies quests completed/quests available Ex: spiral 3457/35643 Krokotopia 453/743 Altar of kings 6/8
That way, we can abandon quests, but still know in what area to get them in, (however, should you adopt this quest layout, people won't want to abandon the quest, since their motivation (if they're like me) is the annoyance of seeing that quest in my book over and over again).
This system is similar to files within a folder within a folder, to keep things organized
Also, to avoid the annoyance of clicking through worlds and areas, we use q(the hotkey fit quests) as a sort of bookmark, where it shows us where my cursor last was Ex: I open the book, go to quests, go to altar of kings Exit book Press q, at altar of kings again Opening the questing tab from anywhere else would bring you back to the spiral
Also, at the top left, we would have an up arrow for "up to " Up: altar of kings up to krokotopia up to spiral
