I've always been a little bit weird about dungeons. I liked waterworks and tower of the helephant, even though they were both very hard. Especially TOTH, because of the first batlle. I like dungeons for main quests, well except labirynth. And like most people, i found the four dungeons to be about ten million times harder than they needed to be. But those aren't the main point.
As we go farther, we are getting inconsistent dungeons, with random gaps in the amount of dungeons a world has, and their difficulty. However, i've seen so much ranting about dungeons, and i have some fun solutions. Main quest ones should be a little tiny tiny bit harder, and optional a little easier. For example, jade palace and throne room of fire are easy. I know those are from a while ago, but they still can be used as evidence. However, barkingham palace is near impossible, and i'm level 76.
But, there is another simple sloution. People have always wanted legit worlds or areas based on their school. Even though some very early places covered that, it's still wanted. So why not make some new dungeons in another optional world, and the plot can go like this:
Evil creatures have opened the time chamber, and ancient door locked away in the spiral. Inside, the world has been altered into a new piece of the spiral, called combina. The creatures that were locked away inside collided the parts of the spiral using the eyes of bartleby, and made sure they wouldn't be defeated by locking themselves deep insode of combina. The professer used his power to seal combina in time, but it slipping intoo reality. You are sent to combina to find the keys that will open the door to the evils that threaten to destroy the spiral.
Players must do the following dungeons in any order they please, which will lead to the final fight against the creatures that threatenn the spiral. Each dungeon is themed around a school of magic, and the creatures and bosses inside are based off of the spells that players use.
1. Fields of - a large plain containing fire creatures. There are spewing volcanoes and a tower of the efreet 2. Mountain of - a mountain covered in ice and evergreens 3. Ocean of - a stormy sea with large storm clouds 4. City of - a huge city containing a myth palace and legendry creatures 5. Forest of - an enchanted forest filled with evil creatures and a seraph kingdom 6. Tomb of - an extensive tomb filled with undead nightmares 7. Desert of - a desert containg a huge sun and a currupted judgement 8. Plaza of - an astral plaza where the trial of the spheres bosses are faced 9. Vault of - a room contaning haunted shadow books
After defeating a dungeon, a key is given to open the door to the creatures. get every key to open it, defeat them, and you win! Hope you like it. All people, professers included, plz take a look. Respond your thoughts
