Hi everyone! I was wondering if KingsIsle planned to incorporate later in the game the ability to craft your "personal" spell. Of course this would mean choosing your own school card, card image (based on the in-game images), card animation, pip cost, damage, accuracy, and effect. I don't really know how KingsIsle could incorporate this part of the game, although I thought of a few facts to take into account: card limit for each wizard, damage and effect restriction (otherwise people would start creating really OP spells). I don't except Wizard101 to add this feature into the game (as it looks very hard to do so), but if somehow the game mechanics could approach a similar idea, it would really be great!
You can already kind of do that with spell recipes you can buy from vendors in the game. These spells are permenant but are really tricky to make. People being able to make their own personal spells would be really confusing to people and could not work as it disrupts everything.

Interesting idea but.... How would you generate an animation for your personal spell? If you could pick and choose from a list of possible pre-generated animations then it sort of nullifies the "personal spell" aspect. If you could create your own unique animation (how to do that is another issue entirely) then there's the problem of KI having to write code that would show that special animation attacking every possible enemy with all of the background visuals for every possible location where it might be used. From the Lost Souls on Unicorn Way to the bad guys in Khrysalis. A monumental undertaking. Think about something as simple as a Dark Fairy spell and how it reacts and interacts with the thousands of different creatures and locales within the game. Now multiply that by the thousands of members of the W101 community and all of their thousands of "personal spells". Another issue you touched on... everyone would want a one pip, 100% accurate spell that does 1000 damage, removes blades, stuns, and adds a -90 Tower shield to you when you cast it. I could see the addition of a personal "school spell...something like what a lot of the bosses have. It would be limited to a total of only seven possible new animations, one for each school. Something along the lines of what the level 78 minions do. It's their equivalent of a wand hit but actually uses pips.
